In my own personal opinion. The only way an Evo can pull off flat black is with a wide body kit to enhance it's aggressivness. Stock body and stock wing Evo's just look silly flat black. It just looks like a bad paint job if the car is stock body. If the car is REALLY aggressive (hence why exotic cars look good flate black) then it works well. Otherwise it just looks like a bad paint job on a mostly stock car.

but satin black is a different story though, the little bit of shine really helps a stock body out

Wow, I've never seen so many pics of nice cars painted flat black. They really do look sharp. I had my old V-8 Luv truck painted flat black years ago and I thought it looked real sharp. Just be prepared to keep hearing "when are you going to finish painting your car" from people.

non of these cars are painted, its a process called foil-a-car, basically its a huge sticker which wraps the car and lasts for years, out here in dubai there are loads of cars done like this, I saw a 599 done in matte gold the other day, looked awesome, but also available now is a chrome finish aswell, I think its quite expensive though

^^ its the new thing with exotics because of their value. I think most of the pics you saw in this thread are paint. With the exception of the high end cars which are vinyl (i know for sure that some of them are vinyl because i''ve seen them in other forums).

If you owned a ferrari and you got tired of your stock color the logic is this. Why depreciate the value of the car when you can pay like 2500 to get it wrapped? Then when your no longer feeling the flat black, take it off for a couple hundred and you can have your oem paint again

I agree with mitsujdm, stock body Evo + flat black paint looks like one hell of a beater car to me.. That do-luck widebody pulled it off nicely.

Hi mate,

I disagree with you about paint.

I will add some pictures with cars paint this way but not only black like I add it befour. Maybe those cars made by chrome from Dubai are like U said ..... made with stickers. It can be done also.

What we are talking about here is painting process made also by some us us here........(example evo from dallas from above) and not some sticker that can witch imitates very good the paint.

Look the pictures and tell me your oppinion.

Take care

i was going to do my '03 BBY evo a satin BBY a year ago. BASF makes the system and it can be done in almost any color. The system can go from totally flat to a satin finish and the clearcoat is very durable.

This 7 series BMW was paint here in Romania.

Owner of this nice car is a photographer.

You gave a suite of photos before and after the paint + some extras.

Second car also was painted in Romania.
