I guess I really should have put these in the review forum... but had not gotten enough miles/air time on them to post a real review yet (will move the thread when I do). I never really put these up there for kudos (looks) as I'm a best bang for the buck, function over form man. These wheels definitely fall into that bang for the buck category thus far. I do like the aesthetics though. So far, my only complaint is the paint. If they brought their paint up to par, I couldn't see buying anything else less for a real race car. However, I digress... arguments about the merit of companies/manufacturers are not allowed in this thread.

Are those wheels powder coated from the factory or just painted from the factory?

Read the thread bubba... my only complaint is the paint could be better... it does not look bad, just worried about long term durability.

I did read the the thread, just wanted to be clear about this. I was hoping they were powder coated. I may just decide now to powder coat my stock bbs wheels black instead since I like to look of them just fine.

Nothing wrong with that if they serve your purpose

I just needed a wider wheel for the 255's. It's a night and day difference.

AHHHH man.... I'm sold on Rota. I love Volk, but i don't have Volk money. Anyways I'm brutal on wheels so that's another reason why I CAN'T shop Volk, SSR or Advan. Funny how as I get older I notice brands don't matter to me that much anymore. Its more of Function over form now. Nice car BTW..... It looks nice and 17's fit perfect IMO.

It's actually a "carbon look" metal film that I picked up at of all places Autozone parts store. I was just dicking around and wanted a quick temp fix... well, it's still there a year later.

I don't want such discussions in this thread, but the other brand wheels were NOT worth the extra money after my research... not for my purposes. If anyone wants to discuss why, or discuss that topic further, use PMs. I'll be happy to explain.

I had a set of Rota's on one of my old cars. They are still on this car to date (4-5 years later) been through auto-xs and still not paint problems. Still Flat Black, no chips, not marring, nothing. The paint may look cheap, but it really does hold up well.

I would go with 18s and the spokes look like they are going past the rim. if the spokes were either flush with the rim on the highest edge or sunken in just a tad bit from the plane of the rim face I think you will be golden. The black looks good with the silver car ^_^

Remember, 18's can NEVER, EVER be an option for me...
