I agree their way too expensive for tires and such. Plus big wheels only belong on awds like Lambos.

These are the exact rim i wanted except i want mine in the Matte Bronze option. I was stuck on the rim size. I was debating between the 18x9.5 or the 17x9. I thought the 18x9.5 was a bit to big for my taste and wished they made them in the 18x9 option. After reading this thread i'm set on the 17x9. Your car looks great man. I have the same color Evo, but i will be lowering mine more since i don't see my Evo catching any airtime in the near future.

Looks great!
I recently purchased an AS IX and have been looking at possible wheel combinations.

BTW...hilarious tags: black, dan, dbsears, dpt, fake, forum, hater, jwl, knockoff, nt03, rota, rotas, subaru, sun, wheels

you say no haters for the wheels...the wheels actually look good... but can i hate on the crappy tires and the ugly tape on the trunk? car needs a wing.

Well, you can say it....

BTW, I may be old, but don't need an "extention" (wing) of ANY kind to feel good about my car/myself. The wing is a "boy racer wanabe" thing IMO if you generally keep the car under 100 or so mph. You know, where it actually does little to nothing other that look like F&F. I keep it though (hence the "tape") in case I want to participate in track days where it might be needed etc. (goes to the "daily driver" tires too, however will be going back to the KDW2's as those are my favorite daily driver tire)

There now, you've had an opinion, and I've had an opinion. From here on, it better be about the thread topic.

Now if you have had bad PERSONAL experiences with these wheels, please speak up. So far, other than paint, I've found few issues, or TRUE failures from the wheels. Lots of BS though. Esp the most popular photos on the net that where lied about.

Toyo Proxes 4... they were a "cheap" solution to bald tires at the time. The idea was to get some tires delivered on the wheels, then later swap those tires to the OE wheels for winter (if there really is one in Texas), and put something more worthy on the Rotas later. At the time, my gun fetish was in full effect, and thats where all my money was (still is) going. They are not a "bad" tire for daily driving, but far from a performance tire IMO.

Since I went with a 17" wheel, just about ANY tire you want can be had in 255/40/17. That was the method to my madness...

Any issues of rubbing? I went with the exact same setup but Hyper Black on 255/40/17 KDW2 and most likely Dunlop Direzza Star Spec afterwards.
