Goo Gone is citrus based, not as damaging as gasoline or another straight solvent...Just looking out for a brother and his thin thin layer of crappy Mitsu clear coat.

Actually it's got citrus oil in it but it's still a petroleum-based solvent. I know what you're saying, it's just that gasoline isn't all that tough against things it can't readily dissolve anyhow (it evaporates too quickly to do much). It's not like we're rubbing sulfuric acid all over the car or something.

Oh one more thing you could try is lighter fluid. Works wonders on just about anything too, including your zippo (which may be clearcoated as well!).

use carnuba wax. put it on a cloth and go nuts on the glue. carnuba is really good for taking stuff off paint if u dont want to clay bar and start all over with the detailing process in that section.

leif, I would think that would cause some swirling once the wax is tired/dried up.

naw....it wax, so it'll keep it nice and shiney, i don't see how that would cause swirls. just make sure u use a microfiber cloth or something that you normally apply wax with. when you're done just wax over the entire trunk area so its all even.

Its easier to heat them up and use floss to get them off. youll kill the badges trying to peal them off just use floss. I used 3m adheasive remover and it worked alright.
