Remixx02's JDM Evo Hunt
UPDATE 4
Alright, I'm finally getting my license in a few days and this could potentially be my new Evo V.

Sorry for the crappy pics and I know they're upside down but I can't seem to fix it. They look normal until I upload them. I'm going to check it out this weekend in person!

I think I'd want something that I can't get over here. But maybe it would be cool to have a 99+ Supra just to see what they were like after we couldn't get them any more, or a 95+ RX-7 which are rumored not to blow up as much.
But an old school Evo is just so awesome, especially in white. DO IT MAN!

Alright, to keep you guys updated; I bought the car today. It's getting the Japanese emissions inspection (JCI) tomorrow. I've only driven the car once and I'm already getting mods before I drive it again. I'm getting an Evo VI bumper, HID's, Tints, Blacked out headlights/LED's and a sound system all before I can say I've drove it a second time!

I'm also getting some rims here within the next 2 weeks. I'm thinking some Enkei NT03+M 18 x 9.5. I will not stop until my car looks similar to this:
phewwww. I hope I get a duty station in Japan. Looks like fun!!! I'm assuming that you're in the Military? If you don't mind me asking (you don't have to tell me how much you spent on yours) but what was the average USD price you were seeing on older Evos? That's gonna be sick once you get it back to the States! You think you'll have a hard time with customs? I know ppl have done it. What do they do with the VIN numbers? I've heard that the Japan VIN numbers won't show up in the US DMV Databases (for obvious reasons). Just curious on the process of all this. Stay safe!!

Yes, I'm military. I paid about $10.5K with everything (including road tax/JCI). It was a good deal. The car's got roughly 65,000 miles and it's a single owner (I'm second obviously). On an island that's ran by military, it's really hard to find cars that haven't been passed around like a dollar bill. Most Evo V's go for about $7.5 - $9.5k. It's not hard to get the vehicle back to the States, just costly.
I'm not too sure about VIN's; I'll check when I have it in my possession.
