At the local dealer they are selling a custom black leather interior that looks pretty good. The middle inserts are perforated leather so it retains the basic look while giving it a more mature feel. It also goes better with the rest of the interior.

Unfortunately, I don't know who did it.

I think about it like this:

You go to pick up your date for the evening. She sees your car and is like, "oh, nice car." Then she gets inside and see the interior. Personally, I think she'll feel the leather better than the stock interior, but that's just me.

I find that women aren't really interested in this car. It's too F&F to impress, at least around here. But that's not why I bought the thing!

Leather seats, acquiring dates, wow, some of you guys bought this car for the WRONG reasons..... How about trying out a AutoX or a track event, something the car was actually MADE for? If you wanted a soft dating car you should have bought something like a Lexus or a fancy SUV....

Just MHO of course....

Yeah I know what the car is for and I would do all that, but i'm in college and dates are a part of college life. I just think that the evo would be even more pimp with leather. This would be my only car you know, so that's what I would pick up my dates in.

I agree. There is no reason why you shouldn't try to make the car look better. If that means putting leather seats then do it. And performancewise, it doesn't really add too much weight so it's allright.

True, our cars are ours to do with as we please, but for me I think that leather is a bit too slippery for track driving. Also when you're sweating with your A/C off, you'll wish for a more breathable material. The problem with owning a car that's so well speced out from the factory is that it's hard to improve on the basic package. As we saw in the pic that started this thread, it's almost impossible...

Sorry, the stock seats look much better than that. That looks like it belongs in a clown car. But to each, his own!

I guess that why it's called "personal" taste.
MY first thought was "yeesh, which one of the five guys from 'Queer Eye' picked those colors.."
But that is because I view everything based on the Yellow Evo.
It might not look so bad in the red or blue. Again, all personal taste.

To keep on topic, leather seats have their appeal if done tastefully. The desire is raising the pimp factor without crossing the rice line. Let's save that for the Civic crowd.

the car is red not yellow
not queer not rice so beautiful in the flesh
if you sould step back from your preconceived bias
and appreciate it for what it is
park yours next to it anywhere
and the crowd would always surround the cuzevo
and its all about the seats
hey i put yellow samcos pipes up front
what do you think
yellow, blue, or red powdercoat for the wheels
love ya
