I think you are getting a little confused. They didn't make any Evo VIIIs with the MIVEC engine. The only Evos to have the MIVEC are the the IX's and X's, which is from the years 2006 and 2008. Are you sure it reads 2005 Evo in the magazine because to me it seems like an Evo IX with the APR widebody kit (which uses the Evo VIII front end).

He just swapped in a JDM Evo 9 motor, hence, the antilag system on it.
Also this car was originally ww!! Yeah!!
Also had hood pins before too...

I love rebuilds like this. Might have been a salvaged car.

that is a JDM 05 EVO IX with an APR widebody kit. the car is one of the cars from F&F Tokyo Drift.

I can't comment on the canards, but zipties are used to preserve the bumper in case of contact. It's a common thing in the drifting world.
