RockBlocker
RockBlocker,
You know this stuff better, so I will give you that. As you said many end users end up scrapping it up. If you will... I represent your regular DIY'er. If I have trouble as a regular user then chances are likely that other DIY'ers will run into similar issues. I feel that if minor changes were made to the pattern it would make it easier for someone like me who does'nt have extensive experience on where and how to stretch the film. I could be wrong... again your expert knowledge and experience is greater. I did get the Venture Tape, because I felt it would be easier to stretch over than the slightly thicker 3M.
As for the notch on the hood, it never occured to me nor was it mentioned in the instructions. I really didn't know what to expect from RockBlocker. It was my first time shopping with them. I had my tool kit from a previous kit ready, but was surprised when it came included with the kit, very cool. The pen(pin) was nifty. I guess what i'm asking is you look over the Evo kit and see if the RockBlocker Labelled Evo pattern can possibly be made more user friendly. Somewhere on your website it states that RockBlocker usually has more than 1 pattern for an application. Is this so for the Evo aswell or is that inclusive of the Stongard offering? If you happen to update the RockBlocker labeled kit I will give it another shot later. For now I can live with the results. Good thing it's not permament. The more successful experiences people have, the more they will return and recommend your product. I look forward to recommending RockBlocker. I have other Evo buddies that are interested and want me to help, but I must admit if the results come out that same I'd rather not lend a hand, because they may not be as accepting as I with the end results.

Sounds like we both have learned from this experience.
I recommend that anyone that is looking to install the clear bra themselves should definitely contact their supplier to find if there is anything they need to know before the install.
As for me, it sounds like I need to convert the instructions from a preliminary version to a complete set of instructions. The only problem is each car and vehicle type is different so not everything you do is the same for every vehicle.
Yes we do usually offer different kits for every car. The only way to make the kit easier to install is to chop up the bumper piece in multiple pieces.. What I am saying is that I could make the bumper into two ormaybe three piece install. The reason why that didnt happen is that I was worried that consumers would not like the look of the extra lines. You guys tell me. One piece or multiple for easier installation for DIY'ers.
I feel the logo area is probably a little harder than most can handdle because of the stretch in factor on the lower left and right of the logo?
Everyone thoughts and opinions can way into this factor so please let us know.
I feel that I have to reiterate that the product is made to stretch in key areas for a better fit. Yes it makes it harder, but the alternative is having too much material with no place to go. Maybe the next time I have an Evo I can do how-to install with pics for the Evo for everyone?

I think if you were to have a multipiece kit for the Evo as an option it would be great. This will only allow the end user with more choices with regard to their skill level. I know Invinca Shield has a multipiece. You may want to checkout their pattern and additional pieces they have for the Evo. Personally I don't mind the addtional pieces as long as they're kept to a minimum and do not have large gaps between them. For the bumper 2 pieces should make things easier. That doesn't include the long strip at the bottom of the bumper, which went on fine. If you do end up making any updates to the current pattern or offer a new or additional pieces please let us know. I will be checking RockBlocker from time to time for updates aswell. Again, my comments are not a rant, though it may appear as such. My intent is to give you feedback and improve your product and service for potential Evo owners in addition to the many makes and models you offer. Thanks.

You will not see any of those problems with the Stonegard system. I can't speak for any other because I have not had experience with them. Stonegard is an absolute perfect fit with no problems whatsoever...but that is why you pay a tad bit more for it.
Stongard, Xpel, etc... may have their patterns right on, but the price difference is also greater. I didn't want to take the chance of scrapping a $400 kit. Even if the pattern is good the end user can screw things up. The films RockBlocker use is the same, so I took my chances with them. Their pattern is a bit different. I'm here to help them make it better. The price for their private label is fair now if they can make some minor adjustments it's a win win.

Try searching on Google. RockBlocker includes some general instructions along with basic tools.
For anyone that may attempt this for the first time you may find a thin layer of water under the film after you've applied it. Don't fret. As long as there's no air pockets it will evaporate in 2-3 days. After that you can go through with a needle and poke any remaining air pockets out.

How would you know that the StonGard is a perfect fit more than we would. In case you didnt know we also carry the StonGard products and have installed the kit for the Evo using StonGard as well.
Just a suggestion, do not make comments that you cannot live up to. I can guarantee you that someone could take a comment like that and think they could install the kit themselves.
Evo_007 seems to have a lot of understanding of the product and how it works. As you can see there were issues with the install. So do you think he could install the StonGard kit because it is "perfect"?
Here are the differences between the two kits so you are educated more.
- The bumper from StonGard is all connected. That would include around the logo and at the bottom of the bumper in the middle. BY having more material for these areas it would make it harder for the end user ie. DIY people to lay the material correctly without any problems of wrinkling and too much material to distribute.
- StonGard offers door cups and door edges
- StonGard covers the hood 1/2" higher than we do.
- StonGard offers a damage warranty for 4 years up to $2000 WHEN the product is installed by a trained StonGard installer.
RockBlocker kit
StonGard kit
A kit is only as perfect as the installer is capable of installing. It doesnt matter if it is StonGard, Xpel, or mine. I can install all of these kits, but one thing is for sure you have to change your install techniques because of the different design ideas.
I am not trying to trash you or slam into the ground. I am just trying to let and everyone know that unless you are a trained installer or manufacturer of clear bra kits that you shouldnt speak like a salesman who doesnt know. It sounded like you just want to push the product out there.

When I have it done I will put a diagram up so you can see it.
I heard that this is not a good thing to do on white cars? I work at Lexus here is Seattle and I know the guy who installs the kits...he is really good at it, but I asked him what the worst color is and he said white. He said it has a greater chance of turning color (yellow) down the road??? Correct me please if I am wrong, otherwise I will get this done.
Hey there,
White cars are kind of a tricky color to work with especially Lexus white. Can the material turn yellow--> yes it can. What can be done about it? Not a lot these days. One in 20,000 kits turns yellow according to 3M.
I do not know what your installer at Lexus does or what he can do as far as the yellowing. We offer lifetime warranty for cracking, fading and/or yellowing for as long as you own the car. I only know of one other company that offers that and we sell their product as well.
3M factory warranty is for two years on yellowing.
Venture Tape factory warranty is for 6 years on yellowing.
It isnt necessarily a bad idea to do to white cars because of how bad the chips look on black and white cars when they get them. If you buy a product with a lifetime warranty then just get it replaced if it turns yellow.
Did you guy say joy much he would do your car for?

I just had the x-pel kit installed (buy a professional) last weekend on my white Evo. I had the hood, front spoiler, fenders, and optical headlight kits installed. Rocker panels were also covered by installer since x-pel has no kit available for these.
My car looks awesome!!! This is the only kit my installer uses, it's the most expensive kit on the market. The total price for the kits plus installation was $1,234.00. Very expensive, you get what you pay for and I wanted a pro to install it.
I live in So. Calif. the installer that I used is listed below, plus the link to X-Pel. He came highly recommened and does awesome work.

The guy at Lexus uses 3M I believe...I think I can get it done on the side for less than three hundred...I would have to ask, but he told me that was a color that he hated doing.
I have been a pro-detailer for four years now and to me, with how much of a freak I am with my car, I always thought rock chips on white cars were easier to take car of with touch up than others...but this protection kit does sound intreguing...just not wanting to shell out a ton of money for it. Thanks for the reply

3M Clear Bra all the way. i took a major blow this past weekend, so hard of an impact that i heard it in the cabin. got home looked at it, destroyed the plastic, all mangled to ****..the paint was unscathed. on top of that, in the top pictures, the fitment is HORRIBLE!!! Mine was a perfect fit with no seams in the front bumper and cut all the angles perfect.
