Custom Heat Shield

Hey guys,

I got tired of looking at the crappy Mitsu exhaust heat shield every time I open the hood. I didn't much care for most aftermarket ones. Most of them wouldn't cover the entire exhaust manifold. So, I had one made out of 18g stainless by a local fabrication shop. It took a few tries but I think it turned out okay. I added some insulation to reduce heat and some pan head bolts to give nice clean finish.

Hell, that looks better than most of the aftermarket ones I've seen. I'm not too big on having parts with names on them and this one would be perfect.

How much it run you and you think they would have a problem making more?

It cost me about $140, which I thought wasn't bad being it's custom.

Price isn't too bad. Maybe they can make them cheaper if they have a group buy or something. I really like it since it doesn't have a name plastered all over it and that it covers the whole manifold.

This is definitely the nicest and cleanest heat shield I've seen. Do you have any pics of the seams? I hate how the welded seams look on most other shields.
