i have the OEM one
its pretty cheesy, pretty much a one layer plastic shell.
the fit is pretty good and has a small shark fin on the roof for the antenna , and fits the wing good.

hopefully there will be a better one soon
altho my EVO just sits in the shop covered so its good enough

is it best to wash your car before covering it...? will any dirt scratch the paint if the cover rubs against it...?

I got mine from California Car cover company. They have been making covers for a long time and they custom make each one to your car. The one I got has a soft fleece lining so it won't ever scratch. It is also water resistant and 100% UV proof. This is from their website....

Our covers are simply the best:
Guaranteed to never scratch or we will refund or exchange your merchandise.
We can custom make covers for any application.
Elastic tensioners are sewn-in front and rear to facilitate a snug fit.
Fabrics are precision-cut on computer-controlled equipment for optimum fit.
We provide provisions for cable locks for added security.
Extra wide 60" material used to reduce the number of seams required.
Seams are overlapped and double-stitched for optimum seal and durability.
Materials are tightly woven to prevent shrinkage from wet/dry cycles.
Permeable fabrics treated with 3M Scotchgard for water repellency.

They are a little more pricey but you get what you pay for. My step father has been covering his vintage vets in em for years. I got a plush weave cover with a duffle bag to store it and the cable locks for $229 thats with tax and shipping.

I got the OEM cover the other day. I haven't used it yet, because I think it will melt if the hood has any temperature to it. the thing really pissed me off. Oh well, at least it was free. It just took me 2 months to get and I was actually looking forward to having it.......then the big letdown.

I bought the OEM Car Cover, but lost the instructions. Does anyone know the care instructions? Can I wash it in the washer and dry it in the dryer?

I'll type them out for you....give me a minute....

Compete with the gramatical errors that you would expect from a company like .....

Here ya go:

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

- If the cover is put on a dirty vehicle, the body paint may be scratched by the dust and dirt on it. It is better to put the cover after washing the vehicle.
- If the vehicle has a removable antenna, remove the antenna before putting the cover on. Otherwise the antenna or the cover may be damaged.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

- If the vehicle is covered with the car cover for a long time, periodically remove the cover and dust the cover off.
- This car cover is semi-watertight but not fully watertight.
- Do not wash the cover as it reduces the watertight performance. If the cover becomes dirty, pour the water at low pressure over the cover on the vehicle and wipe softly. After that, remove the cover from the vehicle and hang it out to dry.
- This car cover may discolor quickly in some conditions.

Enjoy...

Thanks 90GSX-03EVO! I figured I wouldn't be able to wash it in a machine. The material is so thin. If I knew how thin it was I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. I might get another car cover now since the OEM car cover is too much trouble to clean.
