Got a set of 8 tails and want to make them look like 7s except the pin stripes on the turn signals ...what paint has given the best results I.E.
-Color match (7s red)
-Longest lasting
-Fade resistant
-Application method (spray can)

testors - candy apple transparent paint from michaels or online

 

I used krylon high temp and it worked fine

 

Stain glass red tint and clear coat works....

whatever paint or tint you use, I would highly suggest using a clearcoat afterwards. I've seen the difference between clearcoated and non-clearcoated tails and after only a few weeks or months depending on the weather, the non-clearcoated tails look kinda "meh", then slowly turn to "eww".

 

isn't t here a vinyl red lay over to make the tails look like 7s? could be an option worth investigating

i was reading a wile back and these turned out pretty good compared to painted ones

 

^and about 10x easier

 

The tint looks easier...what about black out...same deal?

 

I've done my tails and i think they look pretty good, you can find my thread somewhere on here. I used this paint from my local car shop and paint from wall mart. The paint from wall mart had a clear red can cover on it. I believe it was for painting over chrome. Sorry for the lack of info.
