My New Silver Evo
i agree with the OP silver is way to common. i would avoid silver at all cost personally but then again thats what you have paint shops for. Make sure your more cariful with this evo the second time around. Lets get some engine mods done to this one start with a 2.3 shortblock lol
1: I tried. They were either beat, too expensive or too far away. I didn't want to travel any further than 100 miles. I'm not a huge fan of Apex Silver either, but it's kind of growing on me. I have a good friend who is a painter, so we might paint it either Graphite Grey or Phantom black someday.
2: FMIC was screwed, UICP was broke in half, o2 dump was bent, couldn't take the TBE or suspension because in order to get full credit from insurance whatever I took off I had to replace with factory parts. I didn't have facotry suspension or exhaust. I only got my Perrin intake and E2 catch can off the TB Evo. I did get some exterior goodies though. The Canards, side spats, CF exhaust gaurd and tail lights are off the TB Evo.
3: Mentally I was ready to give up on cars all together. I was mega depressed, never thought I'd have the money to get another one..... UNTIL I found out that my insurance company was going to give me a check for $1500, because I owed LESS than what it was worth. Plus I found this Evo for much cheaper than my black one. Car payments are cheaper by $50 a month

I figured I'd give Evo ownership one more chance. Gave a $2000 down payment on a $20k car. It's an '05 and only had 36,316 miles on it. It now has just under 38k after two months.
I also put forth thought into building an LS1 FD, 302 Miata, MazdaSpeed Miata, GTO 6.0L, '03 SVT Cobra, DSM, G8 etc. But I decided on another Evo because they're considerably cheaper than almost anything I wanted, and overall a better car. I have a friend with a 302 '87 Rx-7 and it's crazy fun. I'd still love to build an LS1 Rx-7 someday
And yes, when my car is filthy, it still looks kind of clean
In certain lighting, the body lines look SO much better in Silver than any other color. But silver just doesn't have that evil look like black does
Black in my #1 choice for a color on almost ANY car.

No. They're already black from Enkei
17x8.5 +30 with 255/40R17
I'd love to get a JDM rear bumper but I'm worried about running with no bumper beam or a "modded" beam.
The black car put donw 301whp at CBRD without the 02 dump, UICP and Perrin Intake, So I'm guessing the black one was right around 320whp at CBRD (saying "...at CBRD" is key, by the way, hahaha. The dyno is a heart-breaker).
The silver one, I JUST got my AMS FMIC in the mail today. So once that goes on, I'll be getting it tuned. I'm hoping to make somewhere between 325-350whp.... at CBRD
Yes, Silver is WAAYY too common. That's the biggest reason I dislike it. A 2.3L would be awesome, but I just don't have that kind of money... Well, I guess I could get a 2.3L but I'd probably die from starvation.
Thanks guys. Sometime this fall I'll probably take some more pictures with some nice autumn scenery and maybe have a few more goodies

I hate Silver... I miss my black Evo SOOO much. I REALLY like this one alot, but it's just not the same
I've thought about painting it black, but I think I'm going to paint it a really dark graphite color (NOT OEM Graphite Grey, something closer to Phantom Black). Anyway, I decided to dust off my camera today. I haven't done any photography in forever. I went back to an old location, and I'm lacking composition, but give me a break
And yes, I know, I know. I need black housing headlights

Incase nobody remembers, this my old Evo R.I.P.

The black one just looks so much more evil, which I LOVE. Though, I seem to get alot more compliments on my new one than I ever did with my black one

bby is the sickest color at night hands down. as for op just save up for the shortblock nobody said you had to buy it in one month lol. I tell you what being broke sux for sure and not being able buy food etc is worse lol thats why i try not to over spend to much unless its just a deal and at that point arrangements can always be worked out payment plan put like 500 away per check eventually you will be there
