Different paint color wear???

Ok, Black shows dirt. They say...

Is it true that white wears the best?

Is it true that silver wears the worst?

Where does blue, yellow and red fall?

Or are they all the same?

I've heard Silver is the color that hides dirt the best because of it's "graininess".

Well I've got white, not sure if it "wear's" the best, it shows the dirt almost right after I wash it.......

the car i drove before the evo was black.. and i am SO happy i switched to silver.

black is pretty high maintnence, i dont think i could handle all the washing and touchups anymore

so far my silver looks good even with 1-2 weeks without a wash. i usually only go 1 week though

Blue has a bunch of crappy paint swirls, but is pretty good at hiding dirt.

It is true that paint quality varies by color or is that a myth?

Chris in HB, Blue Rocket, it makes me a bit more at ease that you said that. My blue EVO is real swirly too, and i had thought the dealer just messed it up real bad when they washed it.

The swirls ARE the result of poor washing jobs, but can be fixed, so don't fret too much.

My previous cars were all either black or white. The white ones seemed to be able to weather the time better than the black. The black ended up suffering from fade in half the time the white ones did. I think it all has to do with heat absorbsion.

That makes sense. The darker the color the more heat it would absorb where a lighter paint color would reflect better.

So to keep black or the darker colors it would be best to keep it out of direct sun as much as possible.

What about silver? People always say that is a crappy color just because silver paint is not as good as other colors? Anyone???

if you use wax there is no problem with black...all my cars have been black.. plus a light color like white can't fade lighter...ha ha
