evo swap (EBP IX GSR)
evo swap (EBP IX GSR)
hey all, just thought i would share my latest purchase. here's how the story goes:
this was my car on friday:

i was getting kinda tired of it because it's a little slow and heavy and the suspension feels like you're riding on a see-saw. so i decided i was going to do a full evo swap. so i called up japan and had them overnight some parts here to boise. i'm talking engine, trans, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, body, interior... everything. then i got to work on saturday, worked ALL night, and came out with this:

...okay, so maybe that's not exactly how it happened. i guess technically, i had my friend who's a car salesman hook me up with this ridiculous deal, and i traded my ralliart for an EEEEBO!! either way, i'm really excited, and i love the car. i've wanted an evo since i was 16, and now i've finally got one.
info on the car:
EBP IX GSR with 34k miles. two previous owners, both adults, so it's in excellent shape both mechanically and visually. only mod is a cat-back exhaust which sounds nice, so i'm keepin it. it's got some ugly wheels imo, so i'm going to have to do something about that as soon as i get some moneys.
anywho, that's about it. lmk what you think!

an evo x is definitely a great car and an amazing performer. however, i don't like the way mitsubishi took it by making the evo heavier and bigger. the ix just seems to be the best of all worlds. it's quite a bit lighter than the x, still has an awesome awd system, and has mivec.
i've seen what both the ix and x can do in auto-x, and i have to say, the ix is much more impressive. the x looks like it's just going through so much effort to make corners whereas the ix makes it look effortless. the weight difference really kills the x.

whhhhaaaat and evo x owner went back in time and got the older version/best evo????..lol. i hear more and more and more stories how EVO X is not capable what 8 and 9 was, and so far you are the second guy i know that traded his evo x for an IX.. good choice man now you have A REAL EVO.
