It's not the exhaust ports I want you to look at. It's the oil seeping from between the head and block mating surfaces. It was like that ALL the way around the engine.
I got it. I was thinking that was normal grease and grime from driving, but seeing it in person can be different than in a picture.
Sweet, it is always such a joy to watch these kinds of threads.. it reminds me off my little antics in my backyward last year, doing a motor swap with all kinds of crap too
if you ever get bored read the thread "boring sunday turns into an engine swap"
however I am not as **** as you are in regards to my tools
keep up the good work..

Great updates!

Thank you for sharing! I like the idea of putting a strap on the radiator support to hold the engine forward when pulling the transfer case. Now I got an idea for my next TC swap!
Looking forward to completion!

as this was my car, ive been keeping fairly quiet while he rebuilds the car to truly be his own.
i owned the car for more or less what i consider 45k trouble free miles. i loved this car, and took care of it to the best of my abilities... which is essentially none. living in the city, having nowhere to work on the car myself, coupled without a lack of knowledge, i was at the mercy of the shops i went to. when i sold him this car, i truly felt i was selling the car as i represented it: no issues. little did i know.
without going into any more detail, my advice to everyone is to be very careful who you trust with your car. the more knowledge you have the better. but then, thats true of anything in life.

Yeah man. I guess there are two other Evo owners in Pine Bush besides me. lol. I can't wait to meet all the local guys though. When I get it up and running I want to get everyone together for some food. Maybe a hooters or cheeseburger in paradise?
