DIY evo V// tails..56k, whats that?
What do the reverse lights look like now in day or night? (when illuminated) I guess it seems strange to me to paint red tint over what should be a clear 'white' light. I'm considering doing this as well.. but would like to see a picture from behind the car when in reverse, maybe with brake lights on as well, as a comparison. If you can/would do that, I'd GREATLY appreciate it!

Definitely look good.. I would appreciate a couple pics to put my mind at ease, before I decide to try this on one of the sets of tails I have around... Thanks again, look forward to the brake & reverse light pictures!
very clean. It enhances the appearance so much plus they're a lot better than that ugly chrome.
well i tried snapping a couple of night shots but my camera BLOWS! they look really nice when illuminated though. as far as the reverse light goes, its definitely not white, its more of a pinkish color. i may try a hyper white bulb in their to see if it helps any but any sensible person should be able to tell that your in reverse.

thanks for the love fellas. makes me feel like the time and effort has paid off.
i will snap a couple pics tomorrow for good measure
heres a link to to the lens paint, expensive but very good stuff http://www.racinglab.com/painrelheadf.html
mcdougal: im no professional by any means but i didnt feel a need to in the beginning. the surface was clean and smooth. the ONLY reason i sanded was to get some of the dust molecules and lint off that fell onto the lights while sitting in the house drying.

I hope for your sake you live around sensible people... I live around a bunch of pontiac grand am owners, and rusted out pick up truck owners.
Regardless, the lights look great! I have considered if I do this, to swap the wires from the reverse and turn signal light.. making a clear bulb for a white reverse light at the bottom, and a turn signal out of the reverse light. I heard evodave mention this as well.

thanks again everyone for the compliments!
evodave- thanks for the heads up dave. i know it wont last forever as its just a couple coats of paint. hopefully by the time it wears off i can afford some real ones
