Thumbs up Rallart WRC Mirror Installed

Here are a few pictures of my Ralliart WRC Mirrors. I got them in fake fiber because their exterior is smooth and I will paint them later. The other kinds are white and black and have a rough texture which I though would make refinishing more difficult. The install is not that easy because they are JDM spec. It took me a few nights to decide on a method for correcting the viewing angle of the driver side mirror. The passenger side mirror works just fine and the stock motor works too. Custom wiring is needed but not really a big deal. I would not recommend these to someone who wants a bolt on product. They work really well on the street. The lenses are more convex than stock and the view is much more wide angle. You can also see much lower than the stock mirrors so backing up in a tight spot I feel more confident with these. They don't vibrate or shake like some aftermarket mirrors I have seen. The passenger side does have a high pitched whistle between 60-70mph. I will fix that in the next few days.

BTW, props to Vivid Racing who got these for me. It took awhile but it was worth it.

Those are nice!!! what is the price on those...don't paint them, even if it is fake fiber. It looks nice and plus you don't want to cover that RalliArt emblem on the side

I really like them a lot. The stock mirrors look like they belong on a Passport minivan.

You can see pretty much the same as stock but the image is smaller and more fisheye. They have about the same blindspot as stock.

I got a good deal on them. Vivid beat Japanparts.com price and charged me $14 shipping. But they are by no means cheap...

I would not call it a difficult install it just requires the driver side mirror to have the motor removed. Then I mounted the mirror inside the case with double-sided tape and silcon glue. I know that does not sound good but it does work very well. I will have to keep an eye on it to see how this setup takes the weather over time. The other problem is it does not allow for adjustment but I never adjusted my stock ones anyway and I was able to get the correct setting with out a problem. It is no doubt a compromise solution but I very happy with the end result. If someone gets a set I will help them with the install. My guess it would take about 3hrs to do. The big plus is I tried about 10 different methods and made some mistakes that could be avoided.

I have no idea about fitting on an OZ? Might want to call Dan at Vivid...

What muffler do you have on there? The tail pipe looks extremely tiny.

You know how the USDM passenger side mirror shows images smaller than they appear. On your ralliart ones, is it the opposite, where the driver side mirror shows smaller image (since it's JDM for right hand drive cars). If this is the case, do you have the mod the mirror to make it look right?

Also why do you need to remove the motor in the mirror?

Nope, the mirrors seem to have convex lenses of the same power in both the driver side and passangers side. The view works very well in both and I think makes backing up better than stock.

You have to remove the motor in the driver side mirror because you can't mount the mirror in the correct angle with it in the case. Basicly the mount the motor is on does not allow the mirror enough range of motion to view away from the car. It would not work just to reposition the motor mount because the case is to small. By removing the motor it gives enough space to place the mirror at the right posistion.
