Yeah, valves would be gone if you tried to start it with the belt like that.

Build looks awesome!

Well I finally got to put the motor in last weekend and finished putting all the little pieces back together. Only thing missing at this point is my second fuel pump, custom downpipe, dumptube and LICP. The custom piping work will be done next week sometime. The guy that's doing it says he has too much in the shop at the moment and I'll have to wait about a week before he can get me in.

Anyway here are the pictures of what we did over the weekend.

Nasty Headlights..

Headlights taken apart..

Wetsanding and buffing the headlight housings.

Gasket maker for the oil pan had formed it's own gasket in the cap lol..

Dropping it in..

The completed project! : D

Since the weather was nice around here this weekend a bunch of my friends decided to go cruising. Most of my friends either have Evos or Supras lol. It's hard to stay interested in my Evo when my friends supras are just so awesome!

8sec capable street supra. Ran 9.56 last year while on the brakes at the 1000' mark. He's done a few more things to it since then so I'd say high 8's will be reasonable this year. He drives this car regularly and doesn't hesitate to take it on road trips lol.

His gf's 858rwhp supra.

My friend Ryan's 97 TT 6spd Supra just BPU for now but it's still a fun car.. oh and my friend Keenans yellow Evo.. lol.

It's amazing how fast Supras feel up top. They actually seem to pull their hardest in 3rd and 4th gear than in 1st or 2nd, unlike the evos lol. I plan on running the 800hp supra when my car is finished, but she'll be on like a 600-700whp E85 tune at that time so it'll be closer lol! I'll make sure to get it on video

Mad_Canabice: My buddy who does detail work did it for me. He's not quite finished yet. He wants to go over them once more but the first time he went over them was with some 1500grit sand paper. He's going to try going over it once more with 2000grit. There's still some pitting from road debris but he says that if we were to use some 600grit and then advance up to a 2000grit again it'd probably get rid of all of the pitting; however, little divots in the plastic don't really concern me at the moment. It was the yellow dinginess that they had that was really bugging me. I will get some more pictures of them probably tonight or tomorrow.

Think0rz: The timing belt was a little loose because I didn't have the tensioner pulley turned exactly where it needed to be. I should have gotten pics of how it looked and how it's supposed to look but basically there are two holes on the tensioner pulley that need to be near the top; however, mine were on the left side. Everything else was good though lol! Not bad for my first timing job IMO. And yes, the belt is perfectly tight now and lined up. My valves are safe again! lol.
