I was just on Big Island and wish I ran into your car! Tons of Suby's, but no Evo's were in sight. Maybe you were on Oahu. I noticed all the cars had those bumper stickers with numbers on them. I'm curious what is signifies?
The stickers on the back bumper are our retarded huge safety inspection sticker and the other one is for recon (if you modify your car here and don't want a ticket its best to get it approved and get the recon sticker). Oahu has the big tuner scene, with no race track. All we have is the Aloha Stadium parking lot for SCCA events.
As far as covering the rear tow hook, I would be able to access it in under 10 minutes without jacking the car up. There are two bolts that hold the lip of the diffuser to the bumper. Once unbolted you can slide the diffuser down. Once this piece is installed its super easy to remove. I would be able to remove the entire diffuser in about 20 minutes without jacking up the car. Well hope this helps. Honestly now that the price has been released, evo owners will debate between this or a JDM bumper. JDM bumpers look great, but to my knowledge really doesn't serve a major function. With the diffuser you will be adding a piece that provides added aerodynamics and a more aggressive look. I don't think the added function would be noticed anywhere below 80mph, so I have to admit I got it for looks.

It's tempting, but at $570 I'd rather save a couple hundred and get the FRP version from APR. I dunno, I have to think about it.

I had the same thought but since FRP cracks so easily, I wouldn't want that at on bottom of my rear bumper. I'd feel more comfortable with Carbon Fiber is, even though this probably won't be the super-duper reinforced CF.

Didn't know this was an issue. I'll have to rethink things again. I guess I just don't want to spend money on a rear diffuser right now.

Will this fit with the USDM carbon fiber exhaust sheild??? is there a way to make it fit or design an exhaust sheild to work with the difuser for 1 continuous carbon look?

The FRP form APR is less than $520 and its nice and shiny ready to install. no running weave like that at all.
