I got tired of hearing that guy with the RX7 run his mouth, so I finally ran him on the freeway. I beat him by a car length while brake boosting... He pulled over and started complaining that I was cheating by brake boosting. I started laughing at him. We went again...NO brake boosting this time... I still beat him by a car.
He proceeds to say... I can't hear your horn. I said...ok you honk then. He says... my horn is broken. So I turn to our chase/lookout car and say...flash your lights. On the third flash we go. He's adamant about going from 3rd gear and not 2nd because he gets no traction. So we were making 3rd-4th gear pulls from 4k. I beat him by a half a car to a car....no brake boosting STILL. The last race I carried it into 5th (yes I broke my own rule) and buried him to 150.... car and a half.
needless to say the races were close, but I won every race we did. We get back to the house and I say, "Is it fair to say that I beat you every time we raced." He says, " Na man... we were side by side." This put me in a wicked frenzy and I went off on him. lol. He then continued to go on about the timeslips.... I never ran the 11.1 etc. He wants me to run him at the track now... he'll only pay out if I can turn a faster time than him. I asked him how much do I get for every time slip that's 11.2 or faster? He then went on to say some **** like "listen to yourself" I was like LISTEN TO ME?!??! You're the one talking ****, I beat you, you complain about brake boosting, I beat you, you say you can't hear my horn, then I beat you again, you won't admit it, and now you're saying I'M OUT OF LINE? WTF is wrong with you!
Unreal. Anyway. I found those two measly timeslips in my desk and shot him a nice text with the 11.1@129mph and 11.2@97mph(brakes) runs in there. I'm sure he's still in denial.

Hey Eric. So this is where you come to trash your friends behind their backs? I’m sorry it’s like that for you, that’s pretty low man. Funny how these stories slide in your ego boosting direction when you are replaying them in your mind for everyone online. Let’s take a moment and break down the night and some of your comments… In case you are wondering, this is “the local mouth running “kid” w/an LS1 powered RX7”.
First of all, my best 60’ is 1.75 and my best trap is 11.87 @ 120, that’s STILL more than you have done at Mission this season in your car… you can continue to bench race all you want.
Now let’s focus on the agreed statement “yeah let’s do it at Mission next weekend”. Last night (Wednesday) you pull up into my driveway revving your engine like it’s a scene from fast & furious at 10:00 with no prior warning with a buddy saying you want to go out on the highway and race right NOW. After reminding you that we agreed that we are going to race at Mission on Friday, you told me that you could not because you were installing your Ohlins, etc. You continued to tell me how we were going to race, you wanted to go out and do some 3-4 pulls… I decided this would be fine; it would give me a great idea of what you car can actually do, as you have never ONCE run your car as it stands.
Now let’s focus on “needless to say the races were very close, but I won every race we did”. So we go out to the highway and we do like 5-6 pulls. Each and every one we are side by side the whole time I was going 60-120mph (top of my 4th gear)… if you would recall correctly, you had about a fender on me half the races and I had a fender on you half the races. For those who are following along at home, two cars cannot possibly be closer matched considering that through a full 60mph of full throttle accelerating… remember we’re talking about a rolling race on the highway with no set finish and no one even close to pulling away from the other guy; that to me does not sound like “spanking” or even “winning”. In addition, thanks for sharing that you were shifting & pulling in fifth gear as well as going 150mph, considering my gearing puts me at about 120mph 4th, you clearly were “racing” a lot longer than I was as I would never not hard shift into fifth.
I never once used the word “cheating” in reference to your brake boosing and it clearly didn’t make a difference whatsoever the race was the exact coin flip of a fenders difference either way. And honestly, I have no problem whatsoever with you brake boosting; what I DO have a problem with is you purposely starting a half car’s length back so that as you are failing at equalizing your braking force acceleration you are creeping up on me gaining MPH well before we even start… I'm not an idiot, if you’re going to try to pull that on me, you better practice a little more.
As you can tell, I have no problem whatsoever with our cars being deadlocked… I’m not the one who constantly **** talks and needs to back up my car (I know that’s probably tough for many people to believe). I go to the track frequently, I am open about my times & traps every time we talk, and let my numbers speak for themselves. You are the one instigating all of this with all of the trash talking about your “low 11’s car” that’s conveniently never been to Mission this year. And great job at going into a “wicked frenzy and going off on me”, I think most people who know Eric knows what that means.
And, yes, please quit telling me what PSI to run my ET streets. If you ever get away from smearing your buddy from behind the keyboard, you might get to see me launch in them and maybe put up some real times yourself.

Local kid with an LS1 powered RX7 was talking smack about the Evo after I was giving him advice on what tire pressures to run on his Drag Radials… considering he bested a 1.85 60’ on a prepped Track LOL. This continued on about “what do you know about launching RWD cars and drag racing” to which I responded my 4 years of racing a ’67 Dodge Dart GT w/340 small block on drag radials… And then he went on to ask me what “I had ever done with FWD Turbo cars that would allow me to give advice to Guillaume’s on his BFG drag radial equipped Honda” I replied, “well… I had a 400hp/400lb ft Neon that ran faster times than your RX7!” Then he began to tell me that I never race my Evo and I always talk soo much about how fast it is… furthermore goes on to tell me that I never ran an 11.1@129mph and he wants to see a slip, because I’m all talk…no one saw it…it didn’t happen.
This resulted in me saying… would you like to go race right now for 200 bucks? I’ll spank you in the Evo… He proceeded with…yeah lets do it at Mission next weekend. So now I have a money race next Friday. I’ll be sure and get video for you guys. 410+whp 2990 lbs Evo vs. LS1 powered RX7 It’s got me itching to switch to E85, but…I can only take on soo much prior to races.

o2 housing, FMIC, LICP, FP4R's, and E85. I'm bringing the heat and I'm coming home with 200 bucks.

I've gotten to know Eric pretty well; as well as our work/family allows, that and the fact that he's almost in Canada!
One thing I do know is that he will speak his mind; the thing is, his mind is made up of facts, experience, and pretty damn good educated guesses.
He doesn't BS, and while he might come across to some as brutal, what they may not see is his brutal honesty. He is more often than not willing (almost to a fault!), and definitely able to help.
I'm betting a certain LS1 powered RWD tries to weasel/whine out of paying up. Looking forward to the video!

^yikes! As a side note since you brought up a child fighting for their life, I'll be joining my buddy tomorrow for his final walk to Children's Hospital. He has walked across the friggin' USA! I kind of envy him...but kind of don't!
This is the same buddy that I once met in Atlanta on a Saturday at noon and helped him drive a BMW 5-series (that he bought off ebay) home to Redmond WA in time for work on Monday at 9A! The guy is crazy!!!

Eric, you did not show up for our race last night. Unless you have a slip for me showing that you were there and we just so happened to not see eachother, you can make whatever excuses you want, you owe me $200.
The only person that's going to weasel/whine about paying up is going to be Eric.

Freddie! Making 500! w00t w00t! I'm making the switch to alcohol here soon. I've got 5 more gallons of 114 Leaded that I'll use for the race on Sunday....then I'll fill the tank with E85 and my two extra 5 gallon jugs with E85

I can tell you the man ran 11.1 as I was there with him that day, he would have ran a 10 something had he picked the pass prior to keep the pedal burried instead of braking. They would not let him run again after the 11.1 pass...
