Search in the ECUFlash forum for "Anti-Lag." There was an effort a few years back to locate spares and mess with it but I don't know what the final outcome was. For sure unless you have an ECU that can work it, it won't do much.

Best bet is to find a UKDM/JDM site. This site is mainly USDM and since the cars here didn't have it most folks here have probably never even seen this, much less remove it.

Why do you want to take it off though? Is it just not working? Or are you upgrading the manifold/heatshield?

It is part of the anti lag system that does not come on usdm evos.

i removed mine and plugged in a couple of screws to cover up the holes... saw no significant purpose in having it...

its put there due to homolgation that mitsubishi needed to get it into the rally. it is for the emissions, as said clean air is put into the exhaust to help

if you've got it, you can have it tuned for pops and bangs

+1. It's JDM option. It can be easily re-done to anti-lag btw. My old JDM Evo IV had it tbh.
