Stock shift knob too small

I don't know if I am spoiled by my Supra and A4 shifter, but the Evo shift knob is WAY too small and cheap looking.

I understand the Momo shift knobs don't fit very well, so I'm looking to find a good, round (like a ball) shift knob other than the Ralliart knob which I'm afraid to say looks like something that belongs on a much cheaper car.

Are there any shift knobs made of metal or leather that are nice and heavy and BIGGER than that tiny thing that comes stock?

I've searched all these forums and I cannot find anything.

get your hands on a b&m short throw, improved shifts and a beefy knob that comes with it, I tried out my friends mitsubishi sport shift knob the other day in comparison to my b&m and it seemed so small, then I realized that it was about the same size as the stock one, I really love my b&m now, think there is a guy sell his b&m knob by itself for dirt cheap somewhere on here.

yep mentioned here
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=shift+knob

and here

This is what I would suggest, I was planning on spending a wad o' cash on a momo and just using the b&m as a temp but now I want nothing else.

Do they screw on without leaving an ugly gap and/or raising shift height?

These look like the ones for me! Thank you...

David, that shifter looks great! What's the one on the left? Is the one on the right the stock shifter?

Sorry. I should have mentioned this above, the one on the left is the Mitsubishi factory upgraded shift knob.

Is it threaded like the stock one? or does it have set screws like the Momo and others out there?

Guys, the Momo knob works awesome if you're willing to slightly play around with your console. In this thread awhile back, I mention how to mod your shift boot to make the Momo knob fit like a glove.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=44768

If you have any questions let me know - I originally was also very frustrated with the Momo, as it had great looks but ****tastic fitment. Now that I've figured out a way to make the thing fit, I couldn't be happier. The knob sits lower than stock and any other knob I've tried, plus it's heavier than stock so will allow for easier shifting. And it matches the steering wheel.

Changing a shift knob is considered a visual mod...

I opted to put on the OEM Aluminum knob. I just really hate leather shift knobs.

It is threaded like stock, with a single set screw to set the orientation of the shift pattern.

I have the mitsu knob that's on the left. As you can see, its height is shorter than the other two, so it shortens the shifter when you put it on. So it's like a 2 for one deal. Nice heavy shift ball, and lower your shifter height by about 1 inch. The WORKS knob is very nice, but it looks every taller then the oem knob and has a larger diameter. The price isn't bad, though.

Just to clarify: Yes, SinCityEvo is correct in stating that the Mitsu knob on the left will sit lower. As such, it is technically a shorter shift than the stock or WORKS knobs. That said, we made the WORKS knob with as much heft as possible -- weighing in much heavier than the Mitsu knob -- so that the shift action would be more direct. If you consider the fulcrum point of the shifter in relation to where the weight sits at the time you shift, you'll note that the more mass you have up top will provide more leverage for a smoother and more direct shift feel. It is a minor point, given that most people buy shift knobs based solely on appearance, but one worth noting.

In addition, for those seeking a true short shift solution, the WORKS grab can be used in conjunction with short shift kits like the one offered by Perrin. This, in our opinion, gives the best of both worlds by reducing the shift height in the action rod assembly, and still providing the heft of the WORKS knob for a more direct throw.

Also, another pic:
