Guys, the Momo knob works awesome if you're willing to slightly play around with your console. In this thread awhile back, I mention how to mod your shift boot to make the Momo knob fit like a glove.

If you have any questions let me know - I originally was also very frustrated with the Momo, as it had great looks but ****tastic fitment. Now that I've figured out a way to make the thing fit, I couldn't be happier. The knob sits lower than stock and any other knob I've tried, plus it's heavier than stock so will allow for easier shifting. And it matches the steering wheel.
Very nice!

But I am very confused by this:

"The knob will spin around the thread very slightly, but no problemo! The knob came with two rubber spacers right? Take the thin one, cut off the top, and insert it into your knob. (You're cutting off the top of the spacer so that the thread can go all the way into the knob)"

How do you cut off the top of a spacer? Do you mean cutting it lengthwise to make it even thinner?

Time for ascii art!

The outer thing is the shift knob, just imagine a little more rounded () and the thing in the middle is the spacer. The thread will fit inside the spacer, but due to the way the spacer is designed, it is "capped off."
_______

( |%%| )

This spacer will end up like this

before:

___
%%
%%

after:

%%
%%

This will allow the thread of the shift knob to go THROUGH the spacer and into the very top of the shift knob. Make sense?

EDIT: uhh.. doesn't come out right. O_o

Actually, that makes perfect sense....when you said "spacer" I was thinking it looked more like a little washer, but instead it is more like a sleeve that fits over the thread...pushing the shift nob up higher. So removing it makes great sense!

Good job!! Now, do you know where the best place is to get that shift knob? That is exactly the one I want.

I picked mine up on ebay for around $60 or so, if you're willing to wait they'll come every once in awhile. Otherwise, most online vendors (just google it) have been selling for $70-80 including shipping. It is a tad steep but hey, I'm not complaining..

I ended up woth the Works shifter. I hated the stock leather wrapped one. The Works one just feels good. It's feel slightly larger in the palm. But what I really like is how it's SUPER SMOOTH to the touch.

Draw backs so far, ice cold in the winter. Haha, who cares. Looks good, feels good, installs easily.
