you all have to look closer at the pictures. It is totally believable that they were going 40ish. A bunch of the damage that you see in the first couple pictures was done by the rescue crew not the accident. The comments about the driver being a girl as if that had something to do with the crash are ignorant. There is a reason that women have better insurance rates. That said, it looks like the driver was going too fast for the conditions and went sideways into that concrete barricade. Sliding sideways into a pointed object like that with limited surface area will concentrate the force of the crash in a localized area. Since cars are not designed to take as much impact from the side, the car's floor crumpled..this pulled on the B pillar...which in turn pulled down the roof. It is a miracle that nobody died in that wreck. The remainder of the damage looks to be from the rescue guys ripping open the doors. It looks like they sheared the the front end of the car in an attempt to unload the pressure on the area where the owner (who shattered his legs) so that they could get him out.
Shame to see an EVO go out like that, but it great that everyone will live. Hope everyone gets better soon. Peace
