Archiebabes 2001 Mirage To EVO V Conversion
I get my parts from the UK.
Its easy to buy an EVO V there, but I wanted the chalenge to build a conversion here in the states.
I totaly disregarded my Evo X now because I am having so much fun with this project.
Maybe you can get me some RS Evo V foglight covers there?

- Whole rear section part of the car including pilars, fuel tank, trunk lid, wing, tail lights, bumper
- Full front end including hood, head lights, bumper, fenders
- Engine including drivetrain
- Complete suspensions including brakes
- Evo 5 gauges, auto-climate control, and seats
All you needed to do was to seam-weld them and for more rigidity, install rollbars. They will also have to reinforce the flooring as the Evo 5s flooring is different from a normal Lancer, As for the foglights, I saw them selling the whole bumper with foglights in a shop in Makati.
Here is a Lancer converted into an Evo 6. Perfectly done right? Well, there was one thing I noticed that made me realize it was a converted unit. Guess what it is.

Nope, the Evo 6 RS original LHD sold here came with an antenna.
Nope, the original RS still had manual aircondition controls. Same controls I have on my V.
Anyway, its the plate number. Plates in the Philippines starting with U came out in cars from 1995 to 1997. 1998 is W. The Evo V got plates with a starting letter of W here. So for a 1999 Evo 6, it should have been a W.

the plate number can actually be changed if it was sold at a later date. also, the only giveaway would be the bumper which doesn't have clean lines. then again, it can be due to color and the sun and the steering wheel doesn't have the horn divots(buttons). from the pics it would be hard to guess or it is a good conversion.
Interesting, I had thought the antenna was located in the rear. My antenna is part of the rear glass.
Also another thing I noticed is the dashboard. A true Evo would have an all-black dash, instead of black/grey.

Installed the Ralliart Frame, and Interfooler for now until I can hook it up to an EVO IX Engine in the future.
Notice the endtanks does not have any IC piping connected to it.
The EVO V looks like its missing its fangs without the intercooler.
