Thanks. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd be cruising around in an evo with my son Like I said, very cool day for me...

GOCH- Sorry I havent posted a list of the mods. And I may have just sealed a deal on a 5 speed

Here they are:

mods:
Buschur 3" TBE w/ center mounted muffler for JDM fitment
Buschur ported exhaust manifold
Buschur 3.5 street FMIC
Buschur upper I/C piping w/ Tial BOV
Buschur filter and pipe kit
Nisei mini battery kit
ARP head studs
BC RAM series coilovers
Russell SS brake line
Girodisc 2 piece lightweight rotors front and rear
Girodisc magic pads
Forge MBC
Rota SVN 18x9 30MM offset wheels
Dunlop Star Spec 255/35 tires
Autometer mechanical boost guage
AEM wideband 02 guage

waiting on delivery:
FP HTA Green
FP 4R cams
Toxic tubular manifld coated black

when this stuff arrives I will install them all and swap out my intake contraption to full non maf SD set up. Everything is already tapped and run like AIT, just need to get it tuned. But not going to do that until the other parts arrive. I will also install the Exedy Twin HD clutch I have here. Power should be 430whp on 93 octane. I'm gonna drive it for awhile and enjoy it. At some point I may swap it over to E85 and who knows what else. For right now, I am just happy driving it as is.

Sure your not..

He has enough money to buy a Gallardo so why didnt he opt for that?? Maybe because he is smart enough this time around not to spend gallardo $$ on an Evo.. The shocks work for what hes doing with the car right now.. Not trying to be a d*** either..

Mike

I like it how you flew up to WV and bought the car you love and drove it back home to florida. I'm sure it was a nice experience beside that tree on highway lol and the gasket problem. I live in West Palm and I've been looking for a Evo 9 for months now i still can't find one. Evo 9 is becoming extinct down here in South Florida .

Nicer is relative and subjective... Do you think a set of JRZ' would make the evo feel like an AMG E63? Do you really think spending $5-7-10K more for them would be worth it for what I'm doing with the car. I'm not competing. I had a set of crappy off the shelf Apexi N1's on Lana and set alot of records with that car. Its all HYPE and unless your building a full blown race car and hunting for records its absolutely a waist of money.

Besides, as Mike perfectly stated, this is a budget build and I wanted to keep it realistic so others could easily copy a good platform. I actually bought a set of KW V3's but sent them back. Just no reason to spend that kind of money on this car. They required plates and everything else. The BC's came already set up with the spring rates and valving I wanted and included everything for a quick and easy install. Not too mention they are local and rebuidable for $100 a leg. It was the smarter choice. I could put Motons or anything else on this car if I wanted. But why? Its a daily driver, not a track car. Besides the track days I attend you arent allowed to pass in the turns so I dont need 5K plus suspension. I assure you they wont be passing me on the straights And in the big picture, I refuse to have more than $30K in this evo. Its just a toy and I am looking at buying a second home in a different state so my son has a chance at a better education. So I promised myself I would be realistic on the money spent and invest it in a smarter place.

It was fun. And even though I had some issues I enjoyed every second of the trip. The car is running perfect now and will only get better. I just refuse to take a $20k car and spend $50k on it to only have it be worth $22k again The evo does its job very well and really doesnt need a ton invested for it to be fun. I've learned the hard way

The answer is get a temporary plate which is $5 in most states if your able to. You will need to call your local DMV and see what they require. I always just come home with no plate and obviously have the bill of sale, title, and insurance card showing its covered with me. The police are looking for proof of ownership and insurance coverage. I have bought a crapload of cars and never once had an issue. DO NOT put a plate from your old car on the new car unless the paperwork reflects it. If a cop runs the plate and it comes back something other than what it is be prepared to be pulled out at gun point LOL... I then just register it when I get home.
