I think Consumer Reports or Autoweek said something about leather being a option in 04. I seriously doubt this will happen. I don't know about you, but I do NOT believe everything I read.

The Evo is a Evo. I hate to start seeing our Evos morphing into Lexuses. If you want leather and a fancy radio with all the nerdy gadgets, buy a Lexus.

The Evo is intended to be pretty much a bare bones track car. If that isn't what you want, don't buy it. Trying to change a track car into a luxury car is stupid. People won't think you are cool, they will simply be thinking "why?"

 

The sides of the Evo seat are already Alcantara. If you do the whole seat in Alcantara, you will not move an inch. This is good and bad - good during a race, bad when your date can't get out of the seat. They really do grip that well. Once my cloth seats stretch out, then it's time to get the full-carbon Recaros, a la 911 GT3.

 

The Evo that K&N uses to show off their Typhoon intake has leather recaros in it. I was talking to them and they said the seats are imported from the UK. The look exactly like the Evo 7 seats, but in leather. Same color scheme.

 

ok so when does a "bare bones track car" have a radio, 6-speakers, embroiderd floor mats, leather shifter, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, and so on.

leather is just a preference, and personally for me comfortable than cloth.

Rob, the FQ-300 has some pretty sick seats that has parts of the leather color-matched to the exterior. Do a search on seats and you'll find the thread. Someone said they were $2000 each or something similarly insane.

When I have enough money I'm going to get red Suede Sparco Milano's and red and black suede rear seat. I'll also do something with the door panels.

 

I have some Recaro A8 leather/alcantara seats. The best of both worlds nice but grippy. PS - They are FOR SALE
