Not sure why people continue to support Seibon after everything I have read about them. I'd put that trunk on my car..... if it was free.

I had to remove the srprings from my trunk because the it would not sit flush with the rear of the car Has anyone else had this issue? is there any other alternative to correct it other than what I did?

I heated the tension rods to reduce the amount of spring in them. Kinda like people used to do on springs to lower their cars, same idea.

They only fade if you don't clear coat them. The gel coat that comes on CF does not have UV protection. I had to remove the tension bars but i might put them back on and try heating them up. The hood and trunk have been on my car for over a year now and still looks just as good as when i had it done. Also my car sits outside in the sun 24/7/365
last year when i got it done

Yep, entire trunk is WW color. Looks factory like a standard Lancer trunk with no wing holes. You can't really tell its CF. The painter spent some time prepping it. If you looked at it really close, you might be able to see the weave but its really hard to tell. I'll try to get some pics of as soon as I find my camera which is MIA.

i have the hood and trunk. both fit nicely. i really like my hood a lot. i also took out both torsion bars in the trunk as they did twist it up a bit. its a little annoying that the trunk doesnt stay up on its own but i dont go in there very often at all so its not that big of a deal to me anyway. neither have faded or yellowed at all however my car is garaged and not my DD so i cant vouch for an evo that sits outside all the time.

A simple bracket with a pin is all you need to lock the trunk in the up position.

Here's the bracket (actually a rod) I was talking about. Thanks to EGbeater (Hsun) for the pictures and idea.

**** seibon. wanna talk about bad fitment? I had gaps between 1-2"+ on every side. could barely get the damn thing to close. complete trash. started fading and spotting after about 4 months even with the car being garaged.

Happiest day of my life was when I swapped it for a Chargespeed trunk. Chargespeed fit like stock, and the weave was beautiful. no fading issues, no nothing. I just got tired of the carbon look and sold it to go back to stock.

in other words, **** seibon. go chargespeed.

I think as far as fitment goes on seibon cf lid is a hit and miss. Some of them fits fine and others don't.
