ever open up your chrome tails? is it worth it?

i wanna see pics of anyone has opened up ther tails and painted them. any other taillight options? i could have gotten the red evo 7 tails when i got the car but i wasnt tryin to pay more....im starting to regret it.

look into the DEPO evo tails (ebay?), people that purchased them say they are quality products.

how much they go for? iv gotten depos for my gsx two years ago, they looked good at first but low quality. (headlamps)

I just started reading them too, there is another wright up but I'm having a hard time finding it again.

they look good, but im not so sure about the reverse lights. switching the bulbs is also a good idea. i love the clear amber blinkers.

Oh, and it is also worth taking the chrome out of the headlights as well IMHO.

headlights were done by last owner lol. our evos are twins!

Same technique, even though this is for a Lancer headlight... however I did not put mine in the oven. I used a "heat gun" which is nothing more than a glorified version of a hairdryer that gets air temps up to over 1,000°F to soften up the silicone sealant that is used on the light. The oven will work though... as scary as that sounds.

For the tail lights (which are a little tougher to separate) I heated the sealant and then used a box cutter to cut through the seal to separate the assembly.

After that its just sanding and painting. I used a semi-gloss black spray paint found at any hardware store for mine.

Not going to lie though... I really do love the EVO VII style tails.

Might eventually do this to mine.
