Back in Black - my crashed then fixed TB Evo 8

My Evo has been to hell and back, and I figured it deserved some attention now that it's all back together. Last summer I wrecked into two cars at the Autobahn Redline Time Attack event. The first car, an S2000 lost its motor and spun out on its own oil. A Civic then spun out and narrowly missed the S2000. I wasn't so lucky:

My right front clipped the S2000 and I went rear to rear with the Civic. It pushed the bumper in a good bit, and put creases on the c-pillar. Also, all the heat in the brakes destroyed my pretty teal caliper paint.

Went from this:

to this:

I bought a shell with the intentions of transferring everything over, but was later able to work it out to get it fixed a lot cheaper than originally estimated. While the car was down I picked up some ebay tail lights, and needed a passenger side headlight. I went ahead and got Evo 9 headlights which I really like. I race an STi with NASA, and use Star Specs on Rota DPTs for rain tires. Since my Evo 8 wheels and tires were trashed I stole the DPTs for the time being.

Back from the body shop!

Time to fix those calipers.

I went ahead and replaced the caliper piston seals as well.

I needed the car back up and running and didn't have time to order Brembo decals, so I went the custom route:

Time to show her off!

I couldn't resist a little 1-4 gear pull after taking the pics

Also, while tracking the car at Autobahn the headgasket went bad. The car will soon be getting an MAPerformance built head. But in the meantime, whynot autox it first? 4G63's are tough!

3 passengers? Whynot?!

Well that's all for now! Hope you guys enjoy the pics/vids.

Crappy Tein S-techs is the only thing I've done. I'm looking into Swifts to replace those and maybe Swift or Whiteline swaybars.

what kind of paint did you use on your brakes? does the paint seem to be holding up well?

I used Dupli-Color engine paint this go round. When I did the teal I used an engine paint primer, teal from a local paint store, then clear engine paint. That obviously didn't hold up very well. I'm hoping with engine paint for primer, color, and clear that it'll hold up better. If not I'll probably break down and pay to get them powder coated.

But for now, it's holding up just fine.

Thanks. Yep, I absolutely love the way this exhaust sounds. I'll never get rid of it, no matter how many tickets I get!

Thanks. And yep! I thought about doing one of the Transformers logos, but that's a little played out. The lambda from Half-Life was the only small little emblem I could think to put on there after that.
