Knowing now that I needed to widen the sheet metal in the rear I stopped taking so many pictures and got down to business with a bunch of tools and most importantly the hub mounted fender roller that I purchased. I did a 3 stage process. Roll- roll the lip from 90* to be parallel with the outside of the fender. Pull - pull the fender outward to start shaping the new flare. Flare - finally when the fender had some pull on it, I adjusted the roller so that it stuck almost straight upward to create the flare. Also in addition, it was crucial to relocate the rear bumper bolt. when relocating that bumper bolt, I also felt it necessary to trim the bumper to allow for additional clearance. Here are the final pics of the metal work.

Keeping the stock USDM rear bumper. I have a APR rear diffuser on it and also have the license plate hole are chopped for airflow

Wow I really dropped the ball updating this thread. My desktop went down and made updating this a pain in the butt. I just didn't realize how far behind I was! Lots of work to do updating here.
