awesome build! only thing i'd change is the mounting point of the harnesses because if you get into an accident, you'll snap your spine in 2....

VERY impressed. You swapped in the Evo IX transmission as well? How did you get the EVU to work?

FYI, get an AMS FMIC, you need one badly.

Yes I have 6 speed Evo 9 MR transmission. Ecu is from Evo 9 as well as all wiring harness. Works everything except speedometer (Evo has electronic speedo, Colt mechanical).

I would like to change my FMIC, but I am searching some which would have similar dimensions as stock with better efficiency because it would be hard to fit some bigger witout hurting my bumper :/

BTW thanks for another cool comments !

speed sensor on a mirage is mounted at speedometer.
speed sensor on evo is mounted at transmission.

they are both mechanical.

you just need to make proper wire changes to get it reading correctly

Hmm I am not sure if You had in Mirage this:

This cable is connected from speedometer to transmission in stock Colt.

Get the AMS unit, it'll be a big improvement over OEM!

Yes my 1994 car has the speedo cable. the cable makes the speedometer work. Later model cars do not use a cable driven speedometer. late speedo meters are electronic. uses the signal from speed sensor.

both use plastic drive gear in transmission to rotate the electronic speed sensor. late cars have the sensor mounted right at transmission. early cars mounted sensor on the speedometer at end of cable. both operate the same way and the ECU has no way of knowing where sensor is mounted.

the wires for speed sensor on early cars is at speedometer. whoever did your wire conversion may have missed wiring the sensor up correctly or they didnt do it at all. My 1994 car uses late ecu and speedometer cable/gauge mounted speed sensor. the speed sensor works as it should.

This is really good info! Honestly I didn't even thought about my speedometer, because I don't have even time to watch it <lol>, but now maybe I will connect it

I thought the EVO 9 MR has electric sensor in the trans not a gear driven one. When I swapped my 6 speed out for a 5 speed I had to re-pin the conectors and use a 5 speed sensor because the 6 speed was electric. ?????
