I just bought a Evo last month and had assumed these parts were stock till a friend noted that they were different from his buddies same year car.

I know this was a theft recovery so I'm assuming the owner replaced the missing parts with other year parts. The taillights and headlights both say Stanley on them so I'm assuming they are OEM on some Evo.

This car is a '06 Evo IX GSR w/ no HID's. Can anyone tell me where the headlights and taillights are from?

 

Looks like a factory headlights and aftermarket JDM tail lights.JDM VIII or IX tail lights.

 

headlights are stock 9 gsr headlights. Tails look to be stock 9 tails with some amber vinyl over them. Although the amber looks yellow lol.

 

Haha...you're absolutely right, I just went outside to check the taillights and it is some kind of tint, its just really thin...thanks

So, even if the car didn't come with HID's it came with projector headlights?

Yea, they all have the projector lights. I ran an hid kit in my 05 gsr. Looked pretty good. Improve my night time visibility.

 

The regular headlights in this are horrible...I can barely see anything at night without the high beams.

Did you use one of those cheap HID kits that plug in or go the more expensive route?

Also, what the hell is the innermost dark projector looking bulb thing for? Just for looks?

 

I have one of those cheap plug & play 9006 HID kits from my DSM laying around....what halogen bulb do Evo 9's use for the low-beams?

 

Just found in another thread that '05-06 non-HID cars do use a 9006 bulb....think I will try tossing this kit in there and see how it looks

 

Tails seem to be oem with amber being yellow instead of orange

 

the evos with factory HIDs came with headlights with fogs. that innermost dark thingy is suppose to be where the fogs go. the gsr doesn't come with fogs so that part is just plastic.
