yes the new 3M clear bra's are the recommended...make sure its a urethane based clear bra also...and the newer 3M clear cover/bra's are RESISTANT to uneven color fade and to yellowing!

its cheaper just to systematically fix all the little chips

3M has come out with a new generation of ScotchGuard Urethane (clear bra). It is so much clearer than before it is amazing. I was actually very impressed when I used it.
Most companies offer some type of warranty against yellowing and fading. While some companies offer lifetime for cracking, fading and/or yellowing of the film as long as you own the car.
If anyone has any questions about the clear bra feel free to let me know. Chad@rockblocker.com
I had the front of my Evo done yesterday. The shop in CT put on an XPEL kit that is made from the new 3m film. I am very happy with the result. The kit covers the whole front end and I had them do a little custom job behind the wheels. They took about 6 hours to do it and charged me $660. The only thing that I was not expecting was that the piece for the hood does not wrap over the leading edge. The plastic starts right on top of the hood and goes back so the very front of the hood lip is still exposed. But that is how the kit is designed and the shop did a real nice job putting it on. I found them on 3m's website. Automobilia in Orange, CT. The owner was a nice guy and there waiting room is nicer than my living room, I fell asleep on there oversized couch. Yesterday was a good day for my RS. Clear bra and dynoflash in the same day.
I'm in Austin TX, and found a shop who will do the hood, bumper, mirrors, (basic kit) for 400.00.
I was just talking to them yesterday about it.

than you'll be driving around and that brand new and newly painted Gialla front bumper and CF hood will get all these annoying tiny little chips from debris flying around on the freeway and from cars infront of you kicking up dirt and what not.
I can probably find you a dealer in the area. I can get you the kit cheaper probably.
and alex: 3M's film and Venture Tape will NOT yellow. It also will let not affect the color fading at all. It allows the paint to fade evenly.
These things were true of older films. But all of have been corrected in the Newer films.
There also guaranteed by a 5 Year Warranty against these things, and Venture Tape has a lifetime warranty against these things.

I read this post and realized that I replied to it back in January.. I thought I might add some additional observations after living through a MI winter with mine.
I majorly detailed my car last weekend (wash, wax, etc.), and found a lot of damage to my clear bra. There are many points were rocks have hit it and left tiny nicks behind. Of course, w/out the bra, these would be chips in my actual paint, so I guess I'm kind of happy when I think about it that way. There are a couple hits that were hard enough to actually make a tiny tear in the bra. Once I waxed, of course those tears look much worse. I'd still put this all under the 'normal wear and tear category'.
What really ticked me off though was that there are probably 4-5 spots where the edge of the bra is peeling back very slightly. It always happens in the area where there is a tight curve (in other words, the installer had to stretch it). When the first one happened, I _very_ carefully trimmed the area back with a scalpel to get the loose piece off. The remaining area hasn't loosened at all. But then I've found it on several more spots (both mirrors, near the Mitsu symbol on the nose, around the fascia, etc.), so I decided to stop 'repairing' their mistakes. The thing is supposed to have a 5 year warranty, but I haven't had time to take it back to the installer yet to complain.
Anyway, all this damage to my clear bra, in my opinion, has just reinforced my enthusiasm for the product. It's worth the money to me. I can drive w/out stressing out about damaging my paint. I suppose the value of 'peace of mind' is something each person has to decide for themselves.

I would assume you have the older 3M film. It was good but you'd be surprised, the newer stuff is almost indestructible. I dont know what on the world would tear this film coming at your car. The newer film strectching is will not tear easily. Its hard to even tear with a sharp knife.
Its good to hear your feedback, and thanks.

The 3M film is awesome and looks so much better now they came out with a new generation of film. I cant believe how clear it is on the truely white cars unlike in the past when you could see a tint of yellow to them.
The headlight film is thicker so it can withstand the direct beam of light for a longer period of time.
