Anyone here tried a Surbo or Turbonator?

http://www.surbo.net/

http://www.turbonator.com/

Do they work, or is it just a big come-on?

Well, i think no one has heard of this yet.. But unless someone will give it a try. I think its alright.. But there will still be doubts... Only until proven and tested that it really works...

This thing is really just the same concept as the new V2 intake AEM is working on (and has released for some cars already). Only issue is AEM is reputable and these other companies are sketchy. The two are essentially the same thing, and I can't see how they could increase anything except gas mileage. Creating a vortex inside the intake pipe will not compress the air at all, just swirl it around a lot more. To me it looks like a big rip off.

So I could just as easily run down to the local boating supplies store, pick up a bilge blower and plumb that in...

think about this infront of your MAS there is a waffle cone that straightens the air out so it can be measured. this item would be of no value since it is countered by the cone on the MAS.

Info on this is all over the net. THEY DO NOT WORK. To this date there is no axial blower or any fan that can compress air like a turbo can. The best can only create 1 psi and not worth the cost.

I'll tell you guys how this is.... I just ordered the turbonator. Partly because I was curious..... partly because I want to do some tests on the dyno....gas milege....stuff like that. It wasn't much and the princibles that they supposedly use shouldn't hurt the engine. I have a shop so it's easy for me to see if this is a infomercial.......or the real deal. Only time will tell. The only reason this made me curious is that one of our customers bought it for his jeep.....and he said it made a noticable difference....so I wanted to do my own tests with it...possibly to sell later on....

hmm this statement "and your car gains more speed up the gears as shown by same-car drag tests." can't be correct..how could it go faster in the same gears if u didnt touch the transmission?

wow

It's made out of stainless steel according to the company..... for the spiralmax and turbonator. I'm skeptical like everyone else.... we'll see...... there are so many different companies with the same concept product..... so I think there is some validity to this product even if it's small..... you get a couple of HP from an intake..... maybe there is better combustion with this product that produces a couple more ponies..... I'm not saying it works.... but there is that chance.

that graph chart makes it look like they both top out at 120. Basically this thing looks like it allows you to reach faster speeds in each gear but doesnt extend your top end speed
