I went to an autocross in Houston last weekend and took a few pics.

I had installed the JICs and Cusco sway bar, so I really wanted to test it out. I caravaned down with a friend in his Black/Gold STI. After we got down to Houston, this happened:


That sucked and I wasn't able to race. So I raced this instead:


Pretty fun, but I like my Evo more. We are taking my car to College Station on Feb 8th and he's going to race my car to see the differences.

What kind of springs/coil-overs do you have and do you have a camber-kit? It looks sick!!!

I was pretty lucky about the tire. We were over 130 at times on the way down there. I was only doing around 75 when it happened. I had a brand new set of tires in the garage. I was just trying to het one more autocross out of those. I guess it backfired on me.

There are a ton of different classes, so I don't know who won them all. The STI was stock, but we raced it in a Street tire prepared class for a better PAX. We dod ok, but we only got 3 runs because of the crowd. I had never even driven an STI before I launched it to race. Needless to say, I was a bit uncomfortable at first. With some more seat time, I could drive it as fast as a stock Evo. I think I woould have had 2 seconds on him in my car though. That is just bench racing though.

Was that tire overinflated?

 

I run high pressure for autocrossing and i never bother deflating it. That's why it was bald in the middle.

The suspension is JIC FLT-A2s. They have camber plates on top. I run -1.5 in rear and -.7 in front ont he street. When i race, i will probably run -2.7 fron if the toe and caster don't get all messed up.

 

Who are the other Evos? The red and two white ones?

Did you take enough pics of the Porsche?

 

Not sure who the other Evo guys were. I didn't get a chance to meet them. I hoped that if they were members here, they would speak up.

It's not often you get to see a GT3 racing.

 

Your rims remind me of an old Camaro RS. Just wierd looking.

 

Man glad your OK with that tire I bet it scared the hell out of ya.
It amazes me to see so many Evo's at the track I love it. In my last Evo I was usually the only one there at the Autocrosses last year till the end of the year. Yeah that red Evo wingless looks strange I do not like it at all. It looks naked like another person said. I am one of those that think it is just one of those things that makes it an Evo.

 

what kina exhaust do you have...it looks like it burned you bumper! in the 7th and 12th picture
