Sanded first. Using 600 wet, then 1500 -2500 wet and then autosol.
Takes some time considering the metal has a sort of rough texture to it...
BUUUUT boredom is a hell of a thing.
Plan to do my DME rear strut brace sometime soon... will post pics before and after

So I got around to doing the DME bar... All I have to say is thank god it wasn't a front Strut brace...
The black they used on that thing was a ***** to remove: either the thinner I had was no good or that paint was well put on. Anyway, original

Started with 180 grit wet sanding (it was that hard to remove) and worked up to 320, then 800, then 1500 and finally 2500...

Still haven't been able to remove all the black from it but it's good enough for now. When I have more time I'll try to get em off.
Finally Autosol. And this is the moment I thought the 2500 made the thing shine.

just have to get my pal to cut a DME sticker and replace it in the middle.
