Question Too Low To Tow

So i just want to start off by saying i know how 90% of evom owners feel about slammed/dumped evo's after seeing comment on almost evil thread. I really dont care about heaters but i do like to listen to everyones voice. now to start on my dilemma..i do want to say that i love the look of a slammed evo but am sort of getting tired of non stop scraping, getting pulled over for being too low and not being able to get it towed properly. So i guess my question is how do you guys like your height and what is the best setting? I'm currently on HSD adjustable coilovers and i maxed them out to its lowest possible height in the rear but am thinking of raising it so that the rear wheel at least isn't completely tucked..

(sorry about the pics they suck but i dont like butt raping my car with a camera so i dont have very many good pics of it....)

If you find a good towing company in your area it won't be an issue. Experienced drivers will get ridiculously low cars on without a problem.

Exactly, the evo isn't bad but my GSX is slammed. In order to have my gsx towed I remove the front bumper and intercooler. They usually have to use a couple blocks of wood but they can make it happen.

As for the OP, i'm on teins coilovers and on the edfc i'm nearly all the way soft with minor wheel gap. I love slammed cars, just about anything looks awesome slammed; with the exception of some cars. However, if you're when dailying a car I find having a car that isn't as low much more comfortable and easier to drive on a daily basis. I'm much more less likely to destroy something, draws less attention, and tires last longer. Especially with Washington roads.. Horrific. I Can't drive down a main road without throwing my car into a persons yard avoiding a drop off into a pot hole. Your car does look sick though

My friend had the Voltex Front Bumper and was dropped pretty low.

He got pulled over for speeding and then the police took his Evo to get impounded. It was dumb because they tried to get the car on the flatbed but it was too low for them to do it. They ended up just driving the Evo to the towyard.

Tow truck driver did that with my Civic years ago. I got hauled off to jail for speeding and they couldn't get it on the flatbed so he called someone else and they just ended up driving it to the yard.

Just my opinion

Change your mind set of how dumped cars look & understand that your EVO will perform so much better w/ proper rake & ride height

Im not the perfect example but I can bomb the railroad tracks, dips & approach driveways w/ little worry & I track my EVO

Have a reputable shop that understands EVO alignments & rake & get set-up

Well said.

If your Evo is too low to be functional, then the obvious solution here is to raise your ride height. This isn't about looks, it's about having a car that goes where you need it to go and performs properly.

Just... raise the ride height? My RX-8 was so stupidly low I couldn't get it over speed bumps, onto tow trucks, or even alignment racks. It was a huge pain in the *** and destroyed the handling.

Haters? It's a performance car and you've gone full retard.

Your suspension geometry is upside-down.

Best setting? -1.4 front and -1 to -1.2 rear is lowest you should go.

Mines lowered an inch from stock all the way around on bilsteins, its noticeably closer to the ground and looks more aggressive for it, but doesn't mess with handling or cause any scraping. I do have to be careful parking cuz some sidewalks would mess up the front lip if i pull in forward, but yeah an inch from stock works perfectly.
