My 2004 EVO VIII

I bought my EVO VIII off a dealership back in May of 2010. It had some mods done, but not much to speak of really. The dealership had repossessed the car and had just put it on the lot for sale when I noticed it. An offer of cold hard cash and a handshake later, she was mine!

I didn't get to do anything to it then because I deployed soon after in November 2010 for a whole year to Iraq. While I was gone, I had the car shipped to my buddy Matt Simoncic at Slick Motorsports in the Cleveland, Ohio area to start some much-needed work on my car. I came back to a car that was not only well-done, but one that made insanely fast power at crazy low RPMs all the way to redline! Here's the list of mods to the car, followed by pics that a good friend of mine in the Army took. Great photos if you ask me! I might just frame up one of them!

Exterior:

- APR front bumper
- APR side skirts
- JDM EVO IX rear bumper
- OEM wind deflectors
- OEM vortex generator

Interior:

- Sparco Torino seats (planning to replace one of these days with something else)
- AEM boost gauge
- AEM A/F gauge
- Blitz turbo timer
- Pioneer AVIC Z130BT double-din head unit
- JL Audio 10" subwoofer
- Pioneer C3 component speakers all around
- Alpine four-channel amp for the speakers
- Kenwood two-channel amp for the subwoofer

Suspension:

- Whiteline front and rear sway bars
- Greddy coilovers
- Cusco front strut bar

Engine:

- Stock block
- Cosworth M2 camshafts
- HKS 7460R GT II turbo
- Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
- Greddy oil cap (rice, rice baby!)
- Cusco oil catch can
- Cusco turbo heat shield
- AMS oil cooler
- AMS intercooler
- Synapse Synchronic DV
- 3" Greddy Racing Ti exhaust
- 3" AMS downpipe
- ACT Heavy Duty six-puck clutch
- Street-tuned using ECUFlash

And now, on to the pics from the photo shoot.

And of course, a pic of yours truly!

All feedback is welcome, but please, try to be nice!

Very clean and nice pics. Do you have any numbers on that setup?

Sure do. 342hp and 282 lb-ft torque @ 22 psi with 91 octane and conservative tune. Once I leave the Army (currently stationed at Fort Riley, KS) and re-settle back in Ohio, I'll be upping the boost and will re-tune the car, as 93 octane is available there. I'll probably end up doing two maps - one for 93 octane and one for E85. I'll post up dyno sheets with 93 octane whenever I get the chance to. All in all, really happy with the HKS turbo and the overall setup!

That's good to hear and hopefully you can really open her up. I fell in love with mine the second I cranked it up but once I started making more power, it turned into an obsession and it's sort of bitter sweet but I love it. Best of luck to you and your clean Evo!

I agree. That is a real conservative tune. Im on 91 oct. mods in signature. I would like to see numbers on 93 or e85 with boost turned up. Very clear car btw. There seems to be acouple evos on fort riley. Yeah?

Hahaha no ****, I saw the sr20-forum.com license plate frame. You were a member of the dash?

Car looks great, did you have the nose chop done? Or was it done before you bought the car?
