19's vs 18's - Why so many haters?
I'm just arguing with you really.
I asked a question and instead of answering just that, you felt the need to add an extra 2c and start an argument.
In regards to evom being dedicated to performance, nowhere does it state that this forum is dedicated SOLELY to performance or even specifically for that matter (Not that your vehicle has any).

This forum has a slant towards performance based modifications and questions. Anything that is geared more towards show and shine needs to be in said forum.

19s don't belong on a civic.
And please don't start on the Honda bashing. I know plenty of Civics that would embarrass half the cars on this site in any venue.
Unless its a big boy car (aka luxosport, Evo X, GTR, Supraish type of performance vehicle), 19's are a little big.
Tire choice and price is enough for me not to consider it.
I will say if I had a Evo X I probably would have 19's on it. 18's look a tad small on X's.

19 inch rim versus 18 inch rim based on some of the data that was presented so far I see it as mainly a cost issue. Many people have decided to go with the safe choice of 18 inch rims to save money on tires and stay within the tolerances of the stock body.
Based on my personal experience, the CT9A chassis can fit 20 inch rims. I forgot how wide the wheels were but they looked skinny. One could go with 19 inch rims but in my eye it would look right if those 19s were wide. To my knowledge, the max width I have seen is 11 inches in the front and 10 inches in the rear on 18 inch rims.
The OP mentioned that his Evo would be going wide body, so I would infer that those 19s would have to be spaced out.

My reasons:
Cost
Weight
Looks.
If I don't like the way something looks, I have no reason to do it. Especially when it costs more and hurts performance. I don't like the 'dish' style, nor aggressive look.
But hey, everyone has their opinions, do what you want.
