I've seen some examples on the CT9A where 19's look good. OP who cares what people say by what you want

I am aware of that. But there is a big difference the way a car will perform between 18 and 19s.

If you read the OP, I was curious to see WHY people prefer 18's over 19's or vica versa, not what the effects are.

Regardless, your prefrence was based on performance which is fair enough.

But my view differs in that:
Road use = stance > function
Track use = function > stance

i think most people stick to wheels that other people have used before so they know what they look like. not many people want to spend $2000+ on a set of wheels they wont like. lol

imo, 18's just fit the car body a lot better

On the X, I'd be rockin' 20's, a'la the X Concept. Personally I think 19's are about the max reasonable size for a CT9A chassis, however I still run 18's on mine as I think the lower aspect ratio tire on a 19 just becomes too harsh for street use. The only time I would talk smack about 19"+ rims is if some genius is running something like a 19x8 with 225s.

For me a good set of tires for my 18's were already really expensive, so tires for 19's are probably ridiculous. I have seen some people pull of 19's really well however.

This.

19's look proportioned on a X since the X is bigger than the 8/9.

but to each his own. the Ings +1 ct9a rolls on 19's

"but on the street who cares?"

Having been run off the interstate and onto the grass twice at passing speed, I care.

wouldnt 19s rub like crazy on a lowered evo anyway? I know I cringe sometimes while driving on a rough road lowered with 18s..

Thats why I have a set of 18s for the track.
whats the point of this thread if all you do is reply with that??
get whatever size u want, why bother impressing other people?
u already have track wheels so who cares what wheels u front on the street.

I'm sticking on 17's but the highest I would go is 18.

Yea get what makes you happy and people like me will point and laugh at your car because it looks like a vw. Or like the cars posted earlier in this thread.

Why would anyone buy an evo for looks is beyond me its not a pretty car thats a vw. Anything that makes the car perfrom worse then stock just for looks makes no sense to me.
