CrAwLiN3vO: 2003 Evo 8 Build Thread
Update for today... received my fidanza cam gears today thanks to a fellow evom member. Thanks again by the way shipping was fast and they're brand new just as stated!
I also went to talk to the guys at the chassis shop yesterday and this weekend I will be dropping the car off saturday to get my custom 10 point chromoly cage installed. Car will be there for about two weeks maybe a longer if I decide to have some other stuff done while its there!

The teeth are cut square, not round like the timing belt. It's a horrible design.

Just a word of warning, I would ditch the Fidanza gears and go with AEM or HKS. I have the fidanza exhaust gear on my IX. A few months ago when I started the car, my exhaust cam skipped a tooth.

Seat test fitment and final placement was done last weekend.. not much to update yet as the car is currently getting the cage in! More updates and PICS soon hopefully!

Wow. Its been a while since I updated this but there hasn't been much to really add since the car was out of my hands for a little over a month. I finally got the car back from the chassis shop last Monday and I could not be happier with the way the cage came out.
The quality of work and attention to detail was bar none, nothing was overlooked, and every minor detail was brought up and discussed with me before execution. Fabrication of the cage took this long was because I told the guys to take there time and that I was in no rush. Reason being that when things are rushed, mistakes are made.
Tonight I brought home the shop trailer so that I can take the car to the shop and continue working on it. I still have quite a bit to do to the chassis of the car before I can move on to other aspects. If anybody is local and wants to stop by and check out the car in person feel free to stop by! Our shop car is also making good progress and should be complete and running shortly!
Thats all for now, on to the pictures!!! These are in order of date for the most part to try and show the progress that was made.
