I would love to do this, but don't have the ***** to do it... It seems like you have prior experience doing retrofits. How much experience exactly? How long did th is retrofit take?

Would cutting out the fake fog, and installing a real fog be difficult?

 

I had tsx-r projector retrofit on my prelude and i miss that compared to the evo.

 

I've done only 1 retrofit before, it was mediocre. It was like 10 years ago in an SC400 that I had lol.

Other than that, the only other experience I've had was switching from a fresnel lens to a clear lens on my 350z. It was already bi-xenon and had a decent projector so I didn't mess with the projector. Just put the headlight in my oven and wait lol.


As far as cutting the fog to put a real fog, yeah I think that will be difficult. The fake fog is just a fake lens mounted on that chrome housing. On the black back housing its completely empty and sealed. There are no brackets for you to use or even a hole for that matter. You'd have to cut your own hole, and mount it to the housing, etc etc...

They are a little odd shape, but the solenoid can be removed pretty easy to get the extra room. I just love how much more light it puts out even with just the low beams. Plus the hotspots aren't as bad as the TSX.

looks like a job well done. Are the base and hid equipped headlight housings the same just with different projectors (one halogen and one hid)? I was considering picking up a set of base headlights to work with on a retrofit so that I don't have to tear apart my only set and take my time. I just wanted to make sure that the housings appeared the same from the outside.

 

Looks awesome man. I bought 35w Morimoto's for my '05 TSX and the visibility is so low. Now i'm thinking I should upgrade to the 50w because yours are super-bright!

As far as I know they're the same, except for the fog light part.

 

love the tsx projectors. I still got an extra set of headlights if anyone wants to do this. Makes me miss my tsx just because of the projectors lol

 

how is the tsx compare to the s2k? Or was it that the s2k is a bit pricey?

 

s2k are nicer, but they're awkwardly shaped and harder to find

 

s2k would have been nicer yes, but for the price I'll take the tsx. I think s2k projectors can reach to about 400 bucks if I recall.

 

Ahhh I see. Maybe someday when I'm motivated enough i'll give the tsx a shot.
