i would imagine that would decrease your structural integrity but i dont think anyone in these forums truely care

structural what now? i think it looks a lot better without the triangle. i think i might just try and get a body place to do it.. thanks a lot exhaust_note for all the pics

I don't know about the structural thing, but it's not a part that's able to be simply separated. You'd have to cut it off, patch the hole, and re-spray the front bumper. Also, the wire mesh behind it isn't one piece. You'd either need to deal with it being split down the middle or replace that piece too. Then there is the front bumper center core to contend with. I suppose you could paint it black to try and mask its presence.

On second thought, I think the center core and the split mesh parts are under that triangle piece. I think it would look a little silly without anything leading up to the hood to sort of blend it in, but it's your car. Little epoxy or bondo and some painting skills should do you fine.

I'd double check what's behind it if I were you though. You wouldn't want your hood latch sticking out or anything.

Yeah, taking the front bumper off is kinda a PITA itself. Need to drill out some rivets to get it off. Then you have to have a rivet gun to put it back on, unless you want to engineer some other way to attach it.
