Aluminum can still corrode as I mentioned in my post. It will get a white haze over it, which is commonly referred to as "white rust". You are correct that it won't rust in the way that we see steel rust, but it will not withstand corrosion. As I said, I'd rather be safe than sorry and with so much time to get the work done, I'm not worried about spending an extra hour or two sanding a hood.

Find it? I mix the paint... I work at a bodyshop. I can mix paint for people I just need the year, make, model and full VIN. The paint would be mixed according to what Mitsubishi (or whatever manufacturer) tells me the formula should be based on the VIN.

Sorry for the lack of updates, the shop has been extremely busy...
Last night I stayed late to finish buffing the hood and this morning went in to put the hood and fenders back on.

All that's left on my end is to paint the bumper, after that the only thing I am waiting on is the turbo kit and it will finally be done (for now).
