Question HID lights

Hey all, recently I found my HID light seem to be not bright enough...there were a couple of times I didn't even see the pedestrians walking beside the road. I mean the center of the light beam is still bright enough but if you look to the sides... just a little bit it becomes really dark. I am wondering if that is acceptable for a HID...cuz the guy I didn't see was in black hoody, like all wrapped up.

To be honest, the hid kit I got is from ebay (a shame I know), which is dirty cheap (8000K temp, $20 for the whole kit including ballast). I don't know if the price really matters.

Anyways do u guys have the same problem with other brand hids? Or you guys really hate me that I put ebay stuff to my baby evo lol, please give me advice like what brand and price range of hid kit is good. Thanks!

first problem:
you don't have correct projectors. sure, halogen projectors are better than reflector bowls, but they're not going to have the sharp cutoff line of HID projectors

second problem:
you bought an ebay kit. you want good quality? spend some money. people like DDM a lot, and some brand that starts with a V. Personally I like theretrofitsource stuff the best

third problem:
you bought 8k bulbs because purple is cool. 4300k is the best output, i wouldnt get anything higher than 5000k. 8000k looks cool (to some, not to me) but has ****ty light output
