I understand that part, it was left out in my post by accident, but yes it does require a tube to run to the bottom to pull water back into the Rad as needed

The overflow system is 2 way... when the coolant expands in the cooling system, some of it gets pushed to the overflow. When the temp comes back down, that extra fluid in the overflow needs to get sucked back into the main cooling system.

That's the idea... He said in the OP he's interested in making his own.

I get that. but like another member said, cost and time ratio doesn't really make it worth it. I can understand exhaust parts, roll cages, etc. but for $100+ and three days of shipping, one can be bought and installed in the same time imo. BEST OF LUCK to the thread originator in getting one fabbed up.

I would completely agree with you if one didn't have any idea how to fabricate things, or have an understanding on how things worked. but in my situation having mig and tig welders, aluminum readily available and taking maybe a few hours out of my day why would I wanna waste my money to buy something?? It realistically would cost maybe 60-75 bucks and would have almost an identical piece as STM sells for 150 plus shipping???

For me fabricating is the fun part of owning a car like this, being able to make and try new things is why I got an Evo, it's always being pulled apart to change something or try something new, guess that's why I like to make things not buy them when I can...

I'm on it, I had to go ask for help because I lost the site... so hopefully my buds come through. I know it exists, I even think they have that exact cap used.

Are you 100% on that?, usually they are always aluminum, and those don't look like stainless welds.

Exactly I believe they are aluminum as well. Look at how its polished it would be hard to make stainless shine like that.

Some people like to do things themselves...it reaps a greater level of satisfaction in the end knowing you made something.

Try it sometime...
