Am I at risk of having my Evo rust?

My Evo's rear 1/4 panel was damaged in a parking lot a while back and some of the paint was scratched and chipped where the rear fender meets the bumper. I ordered some touch-up paint but it took a few days to be delivered and in those few days it was kind of rainy. Only a small part of the scratch went down to the bare metal and after checking it a few days later i saw a few tiny particles of rust. I'm pretty sure I scraped off most of it and got it clean before I applied primer on the metal and touched-up the entire area. I was just wondering, if I happened to have missed any rust particles on the bare metal, am I at risk of having that rust spreading under the paint? If I did miss any it would have probably been microscopic.

Sorry if this question sounds really weird and compulsive, I think I'm developing a serious OCD for my car

Rust isn't an organic virus eating your car : . It's caused by oxidation (exposed to water and air). As long as you primed and seal the scratched area with the touch up paint (and a little wax wouldn't hurt either), the rust will not "spread". Just in case, check that area once in a while for rust. If you see rust, you missed a spot when you painted the area. Hope this helps.

Let's say the area did begin to rust. I'm assuming the paint would start to flake and there would be the noticeable brown color. How would one go about repairing it? If the rust spreads enough, wont it do permanent damage to the sheetmetal?
