Chrome exhaust Manifold Cover

Hey Guys i hated the black cover and didnt want to fork out over 130 dollars for a new one so i spent 48 bucks and had the stock one sand blasted and chromed. Another good thing is you still have the little clip for the wire that runs next to it. Let me know what you think.

I was considering doing the same thing, but I was uncertain that I'd still need the heat shield with my planned changes, at this moment I have a JIC exhaust manifold.. but if I upgrade to the Buschur setup, his cast manifold looks to have the bosses for the stock heat shield.

if you coated it with chrome, i think it will have significantly harder time dissipating heat

What about Jet-Hot coating it instead of going chrome?

I thought the purpose of the heat shield was to keep the heat in to prevent the engine bay from heating up as much. Chrome should be ok for that.
