So when I went to have the stock exhaust put back on the my 04 Evo VIII, while it was up on the lift I saw that the front undertray was no longer in place. Im guessing the geniuses at midas took off the tray to get at the brakes and never put it back on. What sort of aftermarket replacements are there for the undertray? Something that can hide the downpipe in case I want to replace it but still sneak by smog wouldn't be bad either. I remember beatrush made one back in the day, but is there anything else out there?

Not sure when it happened, I did my own oil change before taking it to midas and the undertray was still there, haven't done my own work under there since so either they took it out or it fell off randomly some time. That's the only thing I can think of since I haven't driven it really more than 100 mi since then.

 

Had Beatrush before, I car was much more stable at 120+ mph than stock undertray. I was hitting top speed way more often with it.

 

I have an APR Performance front splitter and it kinda works like an undertray. It doesnt cover the rear as like the other ones mentioned above though. If you ever thought about having a splitter/undertray, I think the APR is pretty good. Otherwise the products already mentioned are good too.

 

The concern im having is that without the undertray the brake cooling ducts aren't brake cooling ducts anymore with no bottoms to them. Would the APR take care of that?

 

I would Reccomend getting the beatrush underpanel and don't look back. It adds lots of protection and some better aerodynamics. Ever since I put mine on I have loved it, and you don't have to deal with the terrible oem plastic fasteners

Im actually unsure about airflow to the brakes caused by the intake vents in the front.
If this helps, the APR is kinda like the undertrays mentioned above without the center extension.
So if the undertrays mentioned above do take care of the venting problem, Im sure the APR will do so as well.
I actually havent thought about that venting problem.

I found some cheap aluminum sheet online and made my own. Some tin snips, a drill, and a little bit of patience I'm sure you could make your own to suit your needs. $200 just seemed to be too steep to buy one, not to mention the shipping charges on top of that. I am going to make another one with thicker gauge aluminum, this one got beat up pretty good through two winters of daily driving.

 

I've had very little luck finding someone with the Beatrush in stock.

 

I would call map and ask them when they are getting a shipment, I had to wait about a month for mine
